Guidelines for Thesis Submission Qualification Exam

 

We will conduct the graduate school thesis submission qualification exam as follows, so eligible candidates are requested to apply within the specified period.

 

1. Application Period :  - September 15(Fri)

  ※ If you wish to take the exam, please submit your application form by September 13th (Wednesday) for prompt question preparation.

2. Application Method :

3. Exam Date: Scheduled for September 21st (Thursday)

4. Exam Fee : None

5. Exam Venue : 해당학과에서 선정 (학과별로 시행)

6. Eligibility : Enrolled students (or students on leave) or graduates who meet the following conditions and have received recommendation from their advisor.

Exemption from Foreign Language Exam (Exempted candidates need to submit documents to the department office without applying for the exam)

Those who have obtained a certain score or higher in a foreign language exam conducted by domestic or international authorized institutions (TEPS, TOEIC, TOEFL, etc.). Exemption criteria will be determined by the respective department. Required documents: Score report of foreign language exams (TEPS, TOEIC, TOEFL, etc.) conducted by domestic or international authorized institutions

Doctoral students who have passed major foreign university language courses or obtained doctoral degrees from other universities can be exempted from the foreign language exam with the approval of the President. Required documents: Certificate of passing a foreign university language course or certificate of obtaining a doctoral degree from another university

2) Foreign Students

Category

Master's, Doctoral, and Integrated Master's and Doctoral

Before 2012-1 Semeste

Completion of Korean language exam or Korean language course of 100 hours or more Required documents: Certificate of completing a Korean language course of 100 hours or more

From 2012-2 Semester

No separate exam will be conducted, and the following conditions must be met Required documents: TOPIK score report and certificate of completing a Korean language course of 100 hours or more

Korean Language Test Entrance: TOPIK level 4 or above (Korean Education majors require level 5 or above)

Other than above: Completion of a regular university's Korean language course of 100 hours or more or TOPIK level 1 or above

 ※ UOU-TOPIK certificate issued by the University of Ulsan will not be accepted as proof of exemption from the foreign language exam (applicable from the 2023 academic year)

 ※ For the completion of Korean language courses, a certificate of completion within the current degree program must be submitted (applicable from the 2020 academic year for incoming students)


3) The validity period for the test score documents of the aforementioned and authorized institution exams is two years from the date of the exam.

 

b. Comprehensive Major Exam

For the Master's degree program, at least 3 subjects related to the major must be tested, and for the Doctoral degree program (including the integrated Master's and Doctoral program), at least 4 subjects must be tested. Details about exam subject selection (including reexamination) will be determined by the respective department. End.
